About Sale Videos
The Blooded Horse Sales Company will promote on our site any horse in its auction with pictures and video clips provided by the Consignor. We have seen yearlings broken to cart to demonstrate how ready they are for the track, as well as hundreds of promotional videos showing yearlings pacing or trotting. Late submitted videos sent in three days before the sale often get hundreds of views before auction day. Posts on youtube show viewer counts. While these may be relatively small numbers of views, they are shown to the right audience, shown to very interested buyers from all over. Videos and pictures help our online buyers as well as in person buyers. It is a great way to promote the animal before prospective buyers can inspect the animal on the sale grounds. A couple years ago a retiring breeder sold several weanlings with a simple hand held video in the style of a barn inspection, showing how well mannered his weanlings were, he discussed his breeding choices and opinions on the animals and they sold well. The Blooded Horse Sales Company suggests that consignments of weanlings benefit from videos too.
A consignor may contract out with videographers to produce videos, or they may choose to edit together some clips shot on a smart phone or include a still photographs edited together with clips showing the gait. Consignors have edited together videos for themselves with nice results. Most videos are around 2 minutes.
During the lead up to the release of our catalog, we promote all consigned animals via this website here - Bloodedhorse.com. We can link to the videographers website, link to a farms youtube channel, or upload a video file to our youtube channel. As not all of our buyers use facebook we do not recommend hosting videos there. Blooded Horse Sales shows prospective buyers a chart of each yearling with links to the stud horse. A stud farm website that does not use https will throw a warning message for viewers and we strongly recommend that farms update their website certificates thru https://letsencrypt.org/getting-started/.
Videos can be sent to bloodedhorsevideos@gmail.com through google-drive, videographer websites, shared dropbox sites, and similar file transfer services. We will show these yearling videos during the auction from barn televisions, a tv near the auction block, and a tv in the arena restaurant. For this reason we ask that the video files be sent to us the week before the auction. If you use Vimeo please select the option to make the file downloadable.
If you would like to be a listed Videographer and have previously done sale videos contact us.
